looting? xenophobia? ask ANC

Let’s be honest with ourselves. These xenophobia attacks happening throughout our country are directly linked to the looting of the ANC.

The thing is, when African people got into power we assumed that our leaders would rectify the economic inequalities. They didn’t. They chose to replace the white faces and enrich themselves.

We are suffering from the frustration of hunger mixed with watching government flaunt their ‘struggle earned riches.’

The people are tired, bitter and hungry.

They are not turning on themselves because they hate themselves. They are turning on each other because the burden is becoming too heavy to carry.

This has not been an effective government.

South Africa is rich in land and resources however 21 years later people are still living in shacks. The government will brag about how many rdp houses they have erected. They will not mention that these rdp houses are smaller than apartheid houses and not as strongly built.

The sad part about the housing situation is that for centuries we have used rondawels. Rondawels are more sustainable, durable and certainly more attractive than these shacks and rdp houses.

The same government bragging about giving us rdp housing, they live in mansions on estates.

Since when did civil service become a ‘get rich quick’ scheme?

Civil servants should not be getting big pay cheques because then we will attract the wrong personality types into government. People will chase government positions for the money and not the service….which is what is happening now.

It seems as though ANC took over the SAME system and paycheques as the apartheid government. Just as the apartheid government was cheating us then, ANC is cheating us now. They are paying THEMSELVES huge amounts of monies to govern OUR resources.

What is blatantly clear is that, when government is faced with our public funds, their 1st priority is to get their percentages and then the rest goes to services. Owing to the fact that basic services are coming secondary, there is not as much effort and energy put into this ‘inconvenience.’

Government officials have prioritised their cars, clothes and houses over the critical issues facing this country. Issues like hunger.

Issues like low employment rate.

Issues like a collective low self esteem.

Government have taken care of themselves and their arrogant family members.

A lot of people in the new government have not earned their places there. A lot of people were not chosen by the people. Nepotism and corruption are rife in government which suggests that we have given too much power to those we have entrusted to run our country’s affairs.

That might be where the breakdown in communication is, the ANC think they own government. They have lost sight of the fact that we put them there to govern us and our resources.

We gave them the country’s account and said

‘Here, find ways in which you can make our social and economic systems work FOR us.’

But instead…..they are working against us and now these systems have us killing each other.

This government is not an effective team.

The country is burning. They are sitting in their high class houses completely removed from reality. Our government organises a peace march with VIP areas.

How are you going to be a civil servant who works with people but wants to be separated from the people because you are a ‘Very Important Person?’ *_*

Next time pls don’t waste public funds on such ‘events’ in the name of humanitarian work? The budget for your VIP expenses could have made a difference on the ground.

The government has set a bad example, one of greed, entitlement and self importance.

We as a nation need to look at ourselves and ask ourselves what kind of leaders we want to lead us.

The current government has fed itself. It is telling when politicians have big bellies and the people who work the ground are destitute. It tells us that one of us is eating, while the other is not.

Indeed this is not the time for blame games, however it is a time for our government to start taking responsibility and start behaving like leaders. The country is burning because people are hungry and there are no solutions coming from government. There are no strategies to help combat poverty and injustices. There seems to be no vision for South Africa. People are hungry. Government will probably think of food packages and grants, but they haven’t developed ‘Community Food Gardening Systems’ which are more sustainable. It is the government’s duty to put laws and systems into place to get desired outcomes.

It seems as though, they have figured out how to make tenders enrich THEM…..but they haven’t figured out how to make wealth for GREATER GOOD.

People are killing because they are hungry……not because they are barbarians.
